HOCKEY |
Usserman Honored.
03.07.2012 Troy senior Nick Usserman
was selected to play in the 2012 Ohio High School Hockey
State All-Star Game. In his four seasons at Troy,
Usserman scored 45 goals, had 63 assists and totaled 108
points. Usserman was a captain for the Troy this season,
helping lead his team to a record of 21-7-2 and its first
Southwestern Ohio High School Hockey League regular season
title in 17 years.

02.12.2012 Troy's hockey program has
never had a bigger win. It was only fitting that it
came against the team it did. The Trojans cashed in a
couple of early chances to take charge Saturday against
perennial Southwest Ohio High School Hockey League rival
Centerville then had the answer each time the Elks tried to
get back into the game, putting away a 4-2 victory in the
semifinal round of the SWOHSHL tournament at Hobart Arena.

01.23.2012 After Saturday's rout of
Beavercreek, Troy coach Larrell Walters said his team needed
to bring its "'A' game" Sunday against Centerville.
The Trojans, who lost to Centerville earlier in the year at
the Mayor's Cup, got a shot at revenge against the Southwest
Ohio High School Hockey League leading Elks - and Troy made
the most of its opportunity, holding on to top Centerville,
4-3, at Hobart Arena.

01.22.2012 The Troy Trojans (16-7-1)
were relentless, keeping the Beavercreek defense looking for
cover and unable to mount a counterattack by lobbing
constant volleys of shots at the net, cruising to its third
win over the Beavers this season in a 6-0 rout Saturday at
Hobart Arena.

Take Third at Chiller North.
01.16.2012 Scoring was not an
issue for Troy at the Chiller North Championship in
Columbus. In three wins over the weekend, the Trojans
racked up a remarkable 24 goals. On Sunday, it
culminated with Troy placing third overall, defeating
Evanston, Ill., by a score of 6-2 in the consolation game.

Late Goal Helps DeSales Top Trojans at Troy Invite.

In a back-and-forth war at Hobart Arena, it was DeSales
defeating Troy in the third place consolation game of the
Troy Invitational, netting the go-ahead goal with 23 seconds
left in the third to win, 5-4.

Green on Sunday, as Derrick Bark delivered the game-winning
goal in a sudden death shootout after a big save by goalie
Jake Eldridge at the other end.

12.10.2011 The Trojans outshot St.
Xavier 10-3 in the final period and 27-14 for the game but
missed their chances down the stretch on Friday, resulting
in a 2-2 tie.

remained unbeaten. But every good thing must come to
an end. Troy was defeated for the first time on
Sunday, losing to St. Francis DeSales by a count of 4-1 in
Columbus.

they've found themselves in this season, the Troy Trojans
have found a way.
Troy rallied after giving up an early goal with a big second
period and held on late to knock off Worthington Kilborne
4-3 Saturday at Chiller North, preserving its unbeaten
record to start the season going into the final game of the
weekend at 8 a.m. today against DeSales.
