Troy Falls To Southern Columbia In District Final

Troy lost a defensive battle to state power, Southern Columbia, 14-0, in the District IV, Class AA football title game.

After a scoreless first half Southern got into the end zone on a pair of touchdown runs from Garrett Garcia - a 5-yarder with 41 seconds to play in the third quarter, and a 1-yard run with 5:32 left in the game. Isaac Carter added the point afters for the 14-0 final.

Troy only had 101 total yards of offense, as Evan Woodward was 6-for-19 for 78 yards and two interceptions. Lincoln Chimics was his leading receiver, with three catches for 32 yards.

Clayton Smith and Brendan Gilliland both had eight yards rushing.
