Canton Holds On Late To Beat Troy

Troy led 4-1 but Canton scored eight runs over two innings to take a 9-4 lead. The Trojan rallied to cut it to 9-8 but couldn't get the last run in their loss to Canton.
Reed Palmer (2-for-3) had a double with 2-RBI and a run scored as Camden Allen (2-for-4) also scored with 2-RBI.
Joseph Frye (2-for-3) scored twice with an RBI while Jackson Taylor (2-for-4) drove in two runs.
Brendan Gilliland (1-for-3) scored and had an RBI as Mason Smith scored twice, and Clayton Smith (1-for-4) also crossed home.
Allen got the start, and no decision, going four innings with six strikeouts, three hits, no walks, and on unearned run.
Mason Smith came in the fifth but didn’t record an out, allowing one walk, one hit, and three earned runs.
Palmer came on for the final two innings to get the loss, striking out four with two walks, three hits, and five runs, four of which were earned.
