Torjans Knock Off Thomas Edison In Palmer Fund Tournament Opener

A big second quarter propelled Troy past Edison, 64-46, during the opening round of the Josh Palmer Fund regional bracket contest.

Troy took a 3-point lead after one, then out scored the Spartans 25-9 in the second, and never let Edison back into the game.

Trey Teribury had 17 points, six boards, three assists, and four steals to lead the Trojans as Josiah Pesesky notched 10 points, seven boards, three assists, and five steals.

Cameron Morry had 10 points, and six rebounds, as Spencer Martin and Landon Cole added eight points each. Martin also had four boards, and nine assists.

Aiden Lawrence scored seven points, with Pryor Teribury, and Brody Ayres both adding two points each.

Tanner Buchanan, and Connor Lasko had 10 points each to lead Edison.

Troy jumped out to a 15-12 first quarter lead behind five points from Pesesky.

In their big second quarter spurt Trey Teribury went off for 10 points while Lawrence added all seven of his as they took a 40-21 lead into the locker rooms.

The Trojans out scored them 13-11 in the third quarter behind four points from Cole, and Morey, while Edison had the 14-11 edge in the fourth.

Troy will play the winner of Horseheads and Trumansburg on Tuesday with a 5 p.m. start.
