
Trojans Rull All Over Wellsboro In 53-7 Drubbing

Troy scored five first quarter touchdowns to roll past Wellsboro, 53-7, during NTL football action.
Brendan Gilliland had three of the five scores as he ran for 122-yards on five carries. Mason Smith was 4-for-6 for 40-yards passing the ball with Josiah Pesesky hauling in two catches for 21-yards.
Smith also had five carries for 37-yards with Kael Millard running the ball four times for 31-yards. Spencer Martin, Evan Allen, and Jayden Kutt all had touchdown runs.
Smith opened the game with a 90-yard kick-off return for a touchdown as Gavin Lykon-Leffler's point after made it 7-0.
Gilliland then had scoring runs of four yards, 53-yards, and five yards. Lykon-Leffler added two extra points, while Martin hit Smith for a 2-point conversion on the final touchdown for a 29-0 lead.
Just before the first horn Martin scampered 33-yards for a score as Lykon-Leffler made it 36-0 with an extra point.
In the second quarter Kutt added a 1-yard touchdown run, followed by Lykon-Leffler hitting a 37-yard field goal for a 46-0 lead at the half.
After Wellsboro opened the fourth quarter with a score Allen plunged in for a 1-yard run, with Lykon-Leffler making it a 53-7 final.
